Expanding Outreach through Missions


We had a wonderful Easter experience this past week. Every gathering was special and impacting. A big thank you to the multitude of volunteers who assisted with communion, ushering, guest services, Easter egg hunt, choir, orchestra, choreography, technical services, Kidsville, nursery, and early childhood. We have a wonderful family and great things are accomplished when we all work together.

I am looking forward to meeting with you again on Sunday. One of my sincere desires is to experience God’s presence in a tangible way and grow more intimate in relationship with Jesus. I have that desire for you as well. It matters when we meet together. I am believing we will all be better equipped when we leave the church campus to live in harmony with our families and impact the world with love. This week is a great opportunity to expand our outreach through missions. One of our members told me this week that he made an increased commitment to missions three months ago. Since that time, his business has been miraculously blessed and has made significant profit during that time period. He attributed the business growth to his commitment to give to reach the world. I am praying that for all of us. It’s going to be a great day as we learn about the effort of Race for a Mission (R4M) to use the endurance bicycle Race Across America to raise awareness for helping hurting people.

Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

EASTER 2011


This weekend is what gives life to life itself. Without the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus we would be without hope. However, because of this reality, we can celebrate the life Jesus has given us and the knowledge of eternal life with Him.

Here is a rundown of our schedule:

Friday at 12:15pm – Good Friday communion service

Friday at 7:30pm – “God So Loved” with our choir and orchestra

Saturday at noon. – Easter Egg hunt for children

Saturday at 4:00 and 7:00pm – “God So Loved” with our choir and orchestra

Sunday at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:15am – Easter services with special music from our choir and orchestra and a message of hope from Rick Cole. Included in the message will be a remarkable story of transformation from Phil Grams.

It is going to be a wonderful weekend of celebration and inspiration! Can’t wait to see you at CCC.

Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

Do Something: Power


We are at week five of our Do Something emphasis as we focus on the POWER God provides in our efforts to help others. We often feel inadequate to achieve great things. Thankfully, we don’t have to settle for inadequacy. Power is available from God to rise above our weakness and discover His strength. It’s time to tap into the resource God provides to reach our potential.

Next week we will be hosting hundreds of pastors from around our Northern California/Nevada District for our annual District Council meeting. The evening services are open to the public Monday through Wednesday. Feel free to join us for any of these inspiring experiences in worship. Thirty years ago, my brother and I were ordained at the District Council meeting. This Wednesday my nephew, Caleb, will be ordained as a minister. It will be a wonderful experience for our family.

Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
