Marked by Gratitude

Week two of our Colossians study and we find one of the true keys to life: Gratitude. While grumbling and complaining comes naturally, it takes a genuine effort to cultivate the habit of being grateful. This is a trait that can be learned. Let's pursue it.

CAPITAL KIDS LAUNCH

This Sunday is the beginning of new things for kids led by Jody and Missy Vaughn. It is going to be a wonderful environment for kids to learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

OCTOBER SCHEDULE CHANGE

On October 2, our service times are moving to 9:00am, 10:30am, and 12:00pm. The first service will be the classic worship style and include our amazing choir. The second and third services will be the casual worship with the Freeway 50 Band. Sunday School classes will be at the 10:30 service time so those who attend a class can choose the early or late worship depending upon preference. We are looking forward to a wonderful season of growth this fall.

Colossians 2:6-7 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Jesus Changes Everything

We begin a study in the book of Colossians on Sunday. The first chapter describes the supremacy of Jesus and how blessed we are to have our sins covered by His sacrifice. It is going to be a wonderful time of worship, prayer, and learning.

COMEDY NIGHT

There are tickets available for the Saturday’s event with Tim Hawkins. He is a gifted comedian who always connects the message of Jesus to His presentation. Perfect event to bring a friend to.

OUR CAPITAL . . . OUR HOME

The lights have been installed on the football field and will greatly enhance our experience for all the events to be held there. We have given $200,000 since July 31 and have pledged an additional $400,000. So, we are nearly half-way to our goal. Exciting times! Be sure to join the effort if you haven’t already.

Colossians 1:3-4 We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people.
