This is a significant weekend in front of us. We are reminded again to pray for our leaders and the welfare of our country as we remember the terrorist attacks of 9/11. It is still sobering to think about the events of that fateful day. The best response we can have is to turn to God in prayer and ask for the revelation of His love around the world.
Friday night also brings us to the first football game of the year for our High School. It will be a great night of fellowship and school spirit. If you are able, come on out and enjoy the evening while encouraging our team in their efforts.
Sunday provides a great opportunity to invite our friends to church. We will be focusing on the hope we have for healing for those who have been hurt or disillusioned by their interactions with the church. We want to represent God properly but there are times we simply miss the mark. Offenses occur. I want to apologize to those who have been hurt by their church experience and project a future of healing and restoration. It is going to be a great day for sure. Please consider inviting someone to attend with you this week.
Hebrews 12:14-15
Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
